Cambridge Exam

International English Language Testing System.

Our Cambridge exam results are among the best in the world, with truly astonishing pass rates. We have classes for FCE, CAE and CPE. Courses for KET and PET are available upon request.

We have been running Cambridge exam courses for almost 20 years, and we have some of the most experienced Cambridge exam teachers you could find. Lessons under their guidance are fun, interesting and ultimately, for almost all of our students, very successful.

  • Class size

Our classes are small, with a maximum of 15 students. The actual number of students in any particular class depends upon the level and the time of year.

    Our teachers

Our Cambridge exam course teachers receive standardization training from Cambridge examiners for accuracy in assessment and marking.

  • Most of the students in our Cambridge exam courses are age 18 – 25, and many of these are current undergraduates or recent graduates, aiming to improve their English for their university courses or professional careers. Our minimum age is 16.

More mature students are of course always welcome too, and older people from huge range of professional backgrounds – doctors, lawyers, accountants, civil servants and more, as well as housewives and people who have retired – join courses in our school each year. The inclusive structure and layout of the school mean that everyone feels welcome and at home.

  • As with our General English courses, our Academic team continually reviews the syllabus for each Cambridge exam course to ensure our lessons are a perfect fit for the latest exams. In class we use the most recent up-to-date editions of Cambridge exam textbooks by leading British academic publishers, while our teachers are among the best-qualified in their field.

Throughout the courses, there are frequent progress tests for all students every two weeks, enabling our teachers to check how much each student has learned and to identify any weaknesses, and then to help them overcome any weaknesses. There are also monthly tutorials for all long-stay students.

  • Every year students from more than 70 different countries enrol in courses in OSE, so you’ll be in good company. Our students make lifelong friends from all over the world, learn about other cultures, receive invitations to visit countries they’ve never been to before and, best of all, get lots of practice in listening and speaking English!

  • While most of our students return to their own countries at the end of their English course, a proportion of them go on to study at university here in the UK (often Oxford). We have partnerships with specific UK universities, including Oxford Brookes University, and our Academic team is always on hand to provide in-depth help and advice to students aiming to move on to Foundation, Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses.
