Located in the very centre of Oxford, just a few metres from all the main bus stops and a very short walk from most of the city’s key attractions, Oxford School of English is one of the city’s most popular English language schools.

Academic Excellence

Many of our English courses lead to Cambridge Certificate exams (FCE, CAE, CPE etc). Our results are usually among the best in Oxford. We run IELTS courses all year round, and because we are Oxford's TOEFL iBT exam centre, there is no better language school in Oxford for TOEFL preparation.
We have recently set up a university foundation course to prepare students for university study in Oxford, the UK and other English-speaking countries.

General Courses

Our general English courses are extremely flexible and can be anything between 5 and 35 hours a week. We run courses at all levels from Beginner (CEF level A1) to Proficiency (CEF level C2). There are no more than 15 students per class (most classes average about 10 students, though many are smaller), and students are constantly monitored to assess their progress. As with all our English courses, our General English courses are among the cheapest of all of the Oxford English schools.

Exam Courses

Several of our classes prepare students for the internationally-recognised Cambridge Certificate Exams, such as First Certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE). In recent years, our students have frequently achieved a 100% pass rate in these exams.
We offer one of the best, and cheapest, IELTS preparation courses in Oxford, with candidates often achieving the highest scores (including the maximum, band 9).
We are Oxford's testing centre for TOEFL iBT (internet-based test), so we offer a unique opportunity to study and prepare for the TOEFL iBT in the place where you will take the test.

Specialist Courses

Oxford School of English offers regular Academic English and Business English courses. These can be in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, and lessons can be held at almost any time. As well as teaching the principals of these areas of the language and preparing candidates for specific Business English and Academic English exams, we assist students with dissertations, projects, CVs and business reports (Recently, for example, our teachers have helped with proposals for sustainable energy in Eastern Europe, credit assessments of Asian shipping companies and academic papers on German literature).

University Foundation Course

We have recently set up a university foundation course to prepare students for studying at university in English-speaking countries. The course includes general English lessons, specialised language courses, where students learn English which is specific to their intended university subjects, and study skills to help students overcome the problems of studying in a foreign language. Información general sobre los cursos

Todos los cursos en Oxford School of English son de gran calidad y, aunque su precio es uno de los más baratos de Inglaterra, no por eso pierden un ápice de contenido académico. Por eso nuestra escuela cuenta con la acreditación del British Council.

El año académico

Los estudiantes pueden unirse a la escuela cada lunes y pueden elegir qué periodo estudiar, desde dos semanas hasta más de un año. El curso académico tiene cinco trimestres y tres de ellos finalizan con los exámenes de la Universidad de Cambridge. Los estudiantes que quieran realizar uno de estos exámenes, deben unirse a la escuela al principio de uno de los trimestres dedicados a preparar estos exámenes (Enero, Marzo u Octubre, por favor, pide información sobre las fechas exactas)

Libros de texto

En cada uno de los niveles, se utiliza un libro de texto diferente. Algunos de los libros que usamos son English File, Cutting Edge, New FCE Masterclass y, en los niveles más bajos, Headway. Todos los estudiantes necesitan tener el libro que se utiliza en su clase. En la escuela, vendemos estos libros al mismo precio que en las librerías, además de diccionarios y libros de gramática.

Video y CD ROM

Nuestros profesores utilizan una amplia selección de herramientas educativas durante las lecciones, incluyendo cintas de video. Este tipo de herramientas puede ayudar a los alumnos a entender inglés en ambientes distintos al de la escuela. También hay CD ROM disponibles para uso de los estudiantes y para ser utilizados en las clases como herramienta de ayuda.

Nuestros profesores son profesionales con experiencia, muy apreciados por los estudiantes y la escuela. Todos ellos son amistosos, serviciales y están realmente interesados en los estudiantes y su progreso.

En términos de calificaciones, todos satisfacen los requerimientos del British Council.

Estudiantes

Nuestra escuela es verdaderamente internacional y los estudiantes provienen de todas partes del mundo, Sudamérica, el Medio Oriente, los Países del Este y &AACUTE;frica, además de Europa. La mayoría de ellos tienen edades comprendidas entre 20 y 30 años. La edad mínima para entrar en la escuela es 16.

Lecciones

El número máximo de estudiantes por clase es 15 aunque, normalmente, solo hay 10 estudiantes e, incluso, pueden llegar a ser cinco o seis por clase.
